Palliative care, and the medical sub-specialty of palliative medicine, is specialized medical care for people living with serious illness. It focuses on providing relief from the symptoms and stress of a serious illness—whatever the diagnosis. The goal is to improve quality of life for both the patient and the family.
Palliative care is provided by a team of palliative care doctors, nurses and other specialists who work together with a patient’s other doctors to provide an extra layer of support. It is appropriate at any age and at any stage in a serious illness and can be provided along with curative treatment.

Dr Anil Jain who apart from taking care of the routine anaesthesia work for all the surgeries performed at the centre, has keen interest in solving the day to day problems faced by terminally ill patients. We have inpatient care, day care & home care section of palliative care where we provide them respite care, symptom management, psychosocial &spiritual care with the help of our devoted team of social workers, nursing staff, medical staff and occasionally we get support from spiritual and religious leaders to help overcome sufferings of these patient. We have arranged morphine for these patients and are also ready to help other organizations to procure morphine so that they can come forward to help reduce the suffering in remote areas according to W.H.O. guidelines.
